Ali was brought a vessel of water and he drank from it while standing. Then he said, "It has reached me that some people consider it disliked for one to drink while standing, but I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do exactly as I have done."Then he took some of it and wiped himself with it, saying, "This is the ablution of one who has not broken his wudu."

Its chain of transmission is sahih. Yazid is Ibn Harun. Masaar is Ibn Kudam. In manuscript Ha, it reads "Yazid bin Masaar," treating the two as one person, which is an error. We corrected it based on manuscripts Kaf and Ha, since there is no narrator known by that combined name. The hadith is abridged, no. 1174.
