A young servant of the Prophet ﷺ once brought him some fresh, juicy dates, whereas the Prophet's ﷺ own dates were dry, palm-watered ones.The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Where did you get these dates?"The boy replied, "This is one saa that we bought in exchange for two saa of our own dates."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do not do that, for this is not permissible. Rather, sell your dates, then use the proceeds to buy whatever kind of dates you wish."
حدثنا يزيد أخبرنا سعيد عن قتادة عن سعيد بن المسيب أن
أن غلاما للنبي ﷺ أتاه ذات يوم بتمر ريان وكان تمر النبي ﷺ بعلا فيه يبس فقال النبي ﷺ أنى لك هذا التمر فقال هذا صاع اشتريناه بصاعين من تمرنا فقال النبي ﷺ لا تفعل فإن هذا لا يصلح ولكن بع تمرك واشتر من أي تمر شئت
