The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I bring you good news of the Mahdi. He will be sent to my nation during a time of disagreement among people and great upheavals. He will fill the earth with justice and fairness just as it had been filled with tyranny and oppression. The dwellers of heaven and the dwellers of earth will be pleased with him. Allah will fill the hearts of the nation of Muhammad with contentment, so that no one will need anything from anyone else. A caller will then announce, 'Whoever has need of wealth, let him come forward.'A man will stand up and say, 'I do.'He will be told, 'Go to the keeper of the treasury and tell him the Mahdi has instructed you to give me wealth.'So he will go to the treasurer and convey the message, and the treasurer will say to him, 'Scoop up as much as you wish.' He will scoop up a quantity, but once he has secured it, he will regret it and say, 'I was the greediest soul of the nation of Muhammad. Could what sufficed them not have sufficed me?'So he will return it, but it will not be accepted from him. He will be told, 'We do not take back what we have given.'He will remain in this state for seven years, or eight, or nine. Then there will be no good in life after him."
حدثنا زيد بن الحباب حدثني حماد بن زيد حدثنا المعلى بن زياد المعولي عن العلاء بن بشير المزنى عن أبي الصديق الناجي
قال رسول الله ﷺ أبشركم بالمهدى يبعث في أمتي على اختلاف من الناس وزلازل فيملأ الأرض قسطا وعدلا كما ملئت جورا وظلما ويرضى عنه ساكن السماء وساكن الأرض ويملأ الله قلوب أمة محمد غنى فلا يحتاج أحد إلى أحد فينادي مناد من له في المال حاجة قال فيقوم رجل فيقول أنا فيقال له ائت السادن يعني الخازن فقل له قال لك المهدي أعطني قال فيأتي السادن فيقول له فيقال له احتثي فيحتثي فإذا أحرزه قال كنت أجشع أمة محمد نفسا أوعجز عني ما وسعهم قال فيمكث سبع سنين أو ثمان سنين أو تسع سنين ثم لا خير في الحياة أو في العيش بعده
