Abu Hurairah reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "By the One in whose hand is my soul, the breath of the fasting person is more fragrant to Allah than the scent of musk. He leaves his food, his drink, and his desire for My sake. Fasting is for Me, and I alone reward it. Every good deed is rewarded tenfold, up to seven hundred times over, except fasting, for it is for Me, and I alone reward it."

حدثنا روح حدثنا مالك عن أبي الزناد عن الأعرج

عن أبي هريرة قال

إن رسول الله ﷺ قال والذي نفسي بيده لخلوف فم الصائم أطيب عند الله من ريح المسك يذر طعامه وشرابه وشهوته من أجلي فالصيام لي وأنا أجزي به كل حسنة بعشر أمثالها إلى سبع مائة ضعف إلا الصيام فهو لي وأنا أجزي به
