Abu Hurairah reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Every deed of the son of Adam is for himself, except fasting. It is for Me, and I Myself reward it. By the One in whose hand my soul is, the breath of one who fasts is more fragrant to Allah on the Day of Resurrection than the scent of musk. Fasting is a shield, and the one who fasts has two moments of joy. He rejoices when he breaks his fast, and when he meets his Lord he rejoices over his fasting."

حدثنا روح حدثنا ابن جريج أخبرني عطاء عن أبي صالح الزيات أنه

سمع أبا هريرة يقول

قال رسول الله ﷺ كل عمل ابن آدم له إلا الصيام فهو لي وأنا أجزي به والذي نفسي بيده لخلوف فم الصائم أطيب عند الله يوم القيامة من ريح المسك والصيام جنة وللصائم فرحتان يفرحهما إذا أفطر فرح وإذا لقي ربه عز وجل فرح بصومه
