Ali bin Rabia reported,

I was riding behind Ali . When he placed his foot in the stirrup, he said, "In the name of Allah." When he settled himself, he said, "Praise be to Allah," and then recited "Glory to Him who has subjected this to us, and we could not have done it ourselves, and to our Lord we shall surely return" [Zukhruf 43:13–14].Abu Saeed, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, added that he then praised Allah three times and said "Allahu Akbar" three times, then said "Glory be to Allah" three times, then said, "There is no god but You."Then returning to the narration of Waki, he said, "Glory be to You, I have wronged myself, so forgive me, for none forgives sins but You." Then he laughed.I asked, "What is making you laugh?"He replied, "I was riding behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he did just as you saw me do. Then he laughed, and I asked, 'Messenger of Allah, what is making you laugh?' He said, 'Allah said, How wonderful is My servant. He knows that none forgives sins but Me.'"

عن علي بن ربيعة قال

كنت ردف علي رضي الله عنه فلما وضع رجله في الركاب قال بسم الله فلما استوى قال الحمد لله {سبحان الذي سخر لنا هذا وما كنا له مقرنين وإنا إلى ربنا لمنقلبون} وقال أبو سعيد مولى بني هاشم ثم حمد الله ثلاثا والله أكبر ثلاثا ثم قال سبحان الله ثلاثا ثم قال لا إله إلا أنت ثم رجع إلى حديث وكيع سبحانك إني ظلمت نفسي فاغفر لي إنه لا يغفر الذنوب إلا أنت ثم ضحك قلت ما يضحكك قال كنت ردفا لرسول الله ﷺ ففعل كالذي رأيتني فعلت ثم ضحك قلت يا رسول الله ما يضحكك قال قال الله تبارك وتعالى عجب لعبدي يعلم أنه لا يغفر الذنوب غيري
