My beloved friend ﷺ instructed me with three things which I will never abandon, whether traveling or at home. That I should not sleep until I have performed the witr prayer, that I should fast three days of every month, and that I should never neglect the two units of the forenoon prayer, for it is the prayer of those who turn frequently to Allah.
حدثنا يزيد أخبرنا العوام حدثنا سليمان بن أبي سليمان أنه
أوصاني خليلي ﷺ بثلاث ولست بتاركهن في سفر ولا حضر أن لا أنام إلا على وتر وأن أصوم ثلاثة أيام من كل شهر وأن لا أدع ركعتي الضحى فإنها صلاة الأوابين
Its isnad is sahih. It has already appeared in section 2, pages 497-498. Awwam is the son of Hawshab, Abu Isa Wasiti. His grandfather was a freedman of Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, and he is trustworthy and firmly reliable.
