Abdullah bin Mughafal heard his son saying, "Allah, I ask You for the white palace on the right side of Paradise when I enter it."He said, "My son, ask Allah for Paradise and seek refuge in Him from the Fire, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'There will arise in this nation people who transgress in purification and in supplication.'"
حدثنا موسى بن إسمعيل حدثنا حماد حدثنا سعيد الجريري
أن عبد الله بن مغفل سمع ابنه يقول اللهم إني أسألك القصر الأبيض عن يمين الجنة إذا دخلتها فقال أي بني سل الله الجنة وتعوذ به من النار فإني سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول إنه سيكون في هذه الأمة قوم يعتدون في الطهور والدعاء
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Ibn Majah reported it in Duaa, chapter on the disapproval of transgression in supplication, hadith no. 3864, from the hadith of Hammad bin Salama with this wording. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (Mawarid), 171, 172, as did Hakim, 1/540, and Dhahabi agreed with him.
