The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw some people whose heels were showing traces of dryness, so he said, "Woe to the heels from the Fire. Perform the ablution thoroughly."

أن رسول الله ﷺ رأى قوما وأعقابهم تلوح فقال ويل للأعقاب من النار أسبغوا الوضوء
Muslim recorded it in the Book of Purification, Chapter on the Obligation of Washing Both Feet Completely, hadith 241, from the hadith of Sufyan Thawri through this chain. Nasai also recorded it, hadith 111, as did Ibn Majah, hadith 450. Bukhari also recorded it, hadith 60, through another route from Abdullah bin Amr bin As with this chain.
