The Prophet ﷺ led a prayer in which his recitation became confused. When he finished, he asked Ubayy, "Did you pray with us?"Ubayy replied, "Yes."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Then what kept you from correcting me?"
حدثنا يزيد بن محمد الدمشقي حدثنا هشام بن إسمعيل حدثنا محمد بن شعيب أخبرنا عبد الله بن العلاء بن زبر عن سالم بن عبد الله
أن النبي ﷺ صلى صلاة فقرأ فيها فلبس عليه فلما انصرف قال لأبي أصليت معنا قال نعم قال فما منعك
Sourcing, its chain of transmission is hasan. Bayhaqi narrated it (3/212), Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (no. 380), and Nawawi in al-Majmu (4/241). Imam Abu Hatim raised an issue with it in Ilal al-Hadith (1/77, 78), but the defect he noted does not undermine the hadith. And Allah knows best.
