Similar to the hadith of Rabi bin Sulayman. They said that Makhul used to recite the Opening of the Book silently in every rakat of Maghrib, the evening prayer, and the dawn prayer.Makhul said, "Recite it in the prayers the imam recites aloud. When he has recited the Opening of the Book and then pauses, recite it silently. If he does not pause, then recite it before him, along with him, and after him. Do not leave it out under any circumstance."

نحو حديث الربيع بن سليمان قالوا فكان مكحول يقرأ في المغرب والعشاء والصبح بفاتحة الكتاب في كل ركعة سرا قال مكحول اقرأ بها فيما جهر به الإمام إذا قرأ بفاتحة الكتاب وسكت سرا فإن لم يسكت اقرأ بها قبله ومعه وبعده لا تتركها على كل حال
