Samura bin Jundab and Imran bin Husayn were discussing together when Samura bin Jundab related that he had memorized from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ two pauses, a pause when he said the opening takbir, and a pause when he finished reciting "not of those who have earned Your anger, nor of those who go astray" [Fatihah 1:7].Samura had retained this, but Imran bin Husayn disputed it with him, so they wrote about the matter to Ubayy bin Kaab. His letter to them, or his reply to them, stated that Samura had remembered correctly.

أن سمرة بن جندب وعمران بن حصين تذاكرا فحدث سمرة بن جندب أنه حفظ عن رسول الله ﷺ سكتتين سكتة إذا كبر وسكتة إذا فرغ من قراءة {غير المغضوب عليهم ولا الضالين} فحفظ ذلك سمرة وأنكر عليه عمران بن حصين فكتبا في ذلك إلى أبي بن كعب فكان في كتابه إليهما أو في رده عليهما أن سمرة قد حفظ
[Its chain of transmission is daif] Ibn Khuzayma narrated it, no. 1578, from the hadith of Yazid by this route. See the two preceding hadiths and the one that follows. Qatada narrated with "an" without specifying direct hearing, but the preceding hadith serves in its place.
