He reported from his father as a narration, and once he said tracing it back to the Prophet ﷺ, "Do not leave fire burning in your houses when you go to sleep."
حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن حنبل حدثنا سفيان عن الزهري
عن أبيه رواية وقال مرة يبلغ به النبي ﷺ لا تتركوا النار في بيوتكم حين تنامون
Bukhari narrated it in the chapter on seeking permission, section: do not leave fire in the house while sleeping, hadith no. 6293, and Muslim in the chapter on drinks, section: the recommendation of covering vessels and tying waterskins, etc., hadith no. 2015, from the hadith of Sufyan bin Uyayna, and it is also in Musnad Ahmad 8/2.
