Zaynab bint Abu Salama asked him, "What have you named your daughter?"He replied, "I named her Mura."She said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade this name. I had been named Barra, but the Prophet ﷺ said, 'Do not praise yourselves. Allah knows best who among you are the righteous.'"He asked, "Then what shall we name her?"She said, "Name her Zaynab."
[Sahih] Muhammad bin Ishaq explicitly stated that he heard it directly, as recorded by Bukhari in Adab al-Mufrad, no. 821, and Walid bin Kathir followed him in narrating it, as recorded by Muslim, no. 2142, who narrated it through Layth bin Saad with the same wording. Muhammad bin Ishaq is not mentioned in our copies of Sahih Muslim, and it may have dropped out, as indicated by Mizzi's explicit mention of it in Atraf, no. 15884. And Allah knows best.
