The Prophet ﷺ said, "He has not lied who carries word between two people in order to bring about reconciliation."Ahmad bin Muhammad and Musaddad reported the wording, "He is not a liar who reconciles between people, conveying good or passing on good."
حدثنا نصر بن علي أخبرنا سفيان عن الزهري ح و حدثنا مسدد حدثنا إسمعيل ح و حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن شبويه المروزي حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا معمر عن الزهري
أن النبي ﷺ قال لم يكذب من نمى بين اثنين ليصلح وقال أحمد بن محمد ومسدد ليس بالكاذب من أصلح بين الناس فقال خيرا أو نمى خيرا
Muslim reported it in the book of Righteousness and Maintaining Ties of Kinship, chapter of the prohibition of lying and explanation of what is permitted of it, hadith no. 2605, from the hadith of Mamar, and Bukhari reported it in the book of Reconciliation, chapter, "The liar is not the one who reconciles between people," hadith no. 2692, from the hadith of Zuhri, through the same chain.
