The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever is killed defending his property is a martyr, and whoever is killed defending his family, or defending his life, or defending his religion is a martyr."
حدثنا هارون بن عبد الله حدثنا أبو داود الطيالسي وسليمان بن داود يعني أبا أيوب الهاشمي عن إبراهيم بن سعد عن أبيه عن أبي عبيدة بن محمد بن عمار بن ياسر عن طلحة بن عبد الله بن عوف
عن النبي ﷺ قال من قتل دون ماله فهو شهيد ومن قتل دون أهله أو دون دمه أو دون دينه فهو شهيد
[Its chain of transmission is sahih]Narrated by Nasai in "Prohibition of Blood, Chapter on One Who Fights in Defense of His Family," hadith 4099, 4100, from the hadith of Ibrahim bin Saad, through him, and it is in the Musnad of Abu Dawud Tayalisi, hadith 333. Ibn Majah also narrated it, hadith 2580, as did Tirmidhi, hadith 1421, who said, hasan sahih.
