The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There will arise within my community discord and division. A people will come who speak beautifully but act wickedly. They will recite the Quran, but it will not pass beyond their throats. They will pass clean through the religion as an arrow passes through its target, and they will not return to it until the arrow returns to its notch. They are the worst of creatures and the worst of creation. Blessed is the one who kills them and the one they kill. They call to the Book of Allah, yet they have nothing to do with it. Whoever fights them is closer to Allah than they are."The companions asked, "Messenger of Allah, what is their distinguishing mark?"He replied, "Shaven heads."In another wording he said, "Their mark is shaven heads and closely cropped hair. So when you see them, strike them down."
حدثنا الحسن بن علي حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا معمر عن قتادة عن أنس أن رسول الله ﷺ نحوه قال سيماهم التحليق والتسبيد فإذا رأيتموهم فأنيموهم
Grading, its isnad is daif.Ibn Majah also narrated it in the Muqaddimah, chapter on mentioning the Khawarij, hadith 175, from the hadith of Abdul-Razzaq through this route. It appears in Musnaf Abdul-Razzaq, hadith 18669, as mursal, without mentioning Anas. Hakim graded it sahih according to the standard of the two shaykhs, and Dhahabi agreed with him.
