The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to present himself to people at the pilgrimage stations, saying, "Is there no man who will take me to his people? For the Quraysh have prevented me from delivering the words of my Lord."
حدثنا محمد بن كثير أخبرنا إسرائيل حدثنا عثمان بن المغيرة عن سالم
كان رسول الله ﷺ يعرض نفسه على الناس في الموقف فقال ألا رجل يحملني إلى قومه فإن قريشا قد منعوني أن أبلغ كلام ربي
[Its isnad is sahih] Tirmidhi transmitted it in Fadail Quran, chapter "Is there not a man who will carry me to his people so that I may convey the speech of my Lord," no. 24, no. 2925, from Muhammad bin Kathir with this wording, and he said, hasan sahih gharib. Ibn Majah also transmitted it, no. 201, from the hadith of Israil with this wording.
