The Prophet ﷺ said to the Jews, beginning with them, "Fifty men from among you must take an oath."They refused.So he said to the Ansar, "Then you may establish your right by oath."They replied, "Shall we swear about something we did not witness, Messenger of Allah?"So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ imposed the blood-money upon the Jews, since the body was found among them.
حدثنا الحسن بن علي حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا معمر عن الزهري عن أبي سلمة بن عبد الرحمن وسليمان بن يسار
أن النبي ﷺ قال لليهود وبدأ بهم يحلف منكم خمسون رجلا فأبوا فقال للأنصار استحقوا قالوا نحلف على الغيب يا رسول الله فجعلها رسول الله ﷺ دية على يهود لأنه وجد بين أظهرهم

Its chain is daif. Bayhaqi narrated it (8/121) from the hadith of Abu Dawud through the same route. Zuhri narrated with "an" [without specifying direct hearing].
