I was a strong young boy, and I caught a rabbit and roasted it. Abu Talha sent me with its hindquarters to the Prophet ﷺ, and I brought it to him, and he accepted it.
حدثنا موسى بن إسمعيل حدثنا حماد عن هشام بن زيد
كنت غلاما حزورا فصدت أرنبا فشويتها فبعث معي أبو طلحة بعجزها إلى النبي ﷺ فأتيته بها فقبلها
Bukhari narrated it, Gifts and Their Excellence and Encouragement Thereof, chapter on accepting a gift of game, hadith no. 2572, and Muslim, Hunting and Slaughtered Animals, chapter on the permissibility of hares, hadith no. 1953, from the hadith of Hisham bin Zayd, with this wording.
