The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If one of you asks his brother for permission to fix a wooden beam into his wall, he should not refuse him."The people lowered their heads, so he said, "Why do I see you turning away? By Allah, I will surely cast it upon your shoulders."
حدثنا مسدد وابن أبي خلف قالا حدثنا سفيان عن الزهري عن الأعرج
قال رسول الله ﷺ إذا استأذن أحدكم أخاه أن يغرز خشبة في جداره فلا يمنعه فنكسوا فقال ما لي أراكم قد أعرضتم لألقينها بين أكتافكم
Sourcing, sahih. Tirmidhi transmitted it in the Rulings section, in the chapter on what has been said about a man placing timber on his neighbor's wall, hadith 1353, and Muslim, hadith 1609, and Ibn Majah, hadith 2335, from the hadith of Sufyan bin Uyayna, and Bukhari, hadith 2463, from the hadith of Zuhri, with the same wording.
