[Sahih] Reported by Tirmidhi, Judgments, chapter on what has been said regarding a road when there is disagreement over how wide it should be made, no. 1356, from the hadith of Muthanna bin Saeed, with this wording, and he said, hasan sahih. Ibn Majah also narrated it, no. 2338, and Ibn Jarud graded it sahih, no. 1018. Its basis is found in Muslim, no. 1613, from the hadith of Abu Hurairah, with this wording.
