[Its isnad is hasan]. Tirmidhi narrated it in the chapters on Diyat, chapter on what has been said about detention on suspicion, hadith 1417, from the hadith of Maamar, with this wording, and he said it is hasan. Nasai also narrated it, hadith 4879, 4880. It is also found in Musannaf Abdul-Razzaq, hadith 18891. Ibn Jarud graded it sahih, hadith 1003, as did Hakim, 4/102, and Dhahabi agreed with him.
