I came to the Prophet ﷺ wanting to embrace Islam, so he instructed me to bathe with water and lotus leaves.
حدثنا محمد بن كثير العبدي أخبرنا سفيان حدثنا الأغر عن خليفة بن حصين
أتيت النبي ﷺ أريد الإسلام فأمرني أن أغتسل بماء وسدر
[Sahih] Reported by Tirmidhi, Jumuah, chapter on what has been mentioned regarding bathing when a man embraces Islam, no. 605, and Nasai, no. 188, from the hadith of Sufyan Thawri, with this wording. Tirmidhi said, hasan, and Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, no. 254, 255, as did Ibn Hibban, no. 231, and Ibn Jarud, no. 14, and others. Its chain is hasan, and the hadith has corroborating narrations.
