Abu Bakr bin Abdul-Rahman bin Harith bin Hisham informed me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ... and he then mentioned the meaning of Malik's hadith, with the addition, "If the buyer had already paid part of the price, then the seller stands on equal footing with the other creditors regarding it."
حدثنا سليمان بن داود حدثنا عبد الله يعني ابن وهب أخبرني يونس
أخبرني أبو بكر بن عبد الرحمن بن الحارث بن هشام أن رسول الله ﷺ فذكر معنى حديث مالك زاد وإن كان قد قضى من ثمنها شيئا فهو أسوة الغرماء فيها
[Sahih] see the two previous hadiths. Ibn Majah also narrated it in "The Rulings," in the chapter "One who finds his property intact with a man who has gone bankrupt," hadith no. 2359, from the hadith of Ibn Shihab Zuhri, with the same wording.
