In the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, people used to lease land in exchange for the produce of the irrigation channels, the heads of the streams, and certain portions of the crop. Sometimes one portion would perish while another survived, or one would survive while another perished, and people had no other form of rental arrangement. That is why it was forbidden. But as for something guaranteed and clearly defined, there is no harm in it."The narration of Ibrahim is more complete. Qutayba reported it from Hanzala from Rafi.

Muslim reported it in the Book of Business Transactions, Chapter on Renting Land for Gold and Silver, hadith no. 116/1547, after hadith no. 1548, from the narration of Isa. Bukhari reported it in the Book of Cultivation and Sharecropping, Chapter on Renting Land for Gold and Silver, hadith nos. 2346 and 2347, from the narration of Layth bin Saad, with the same chain.
