May Allah forgive Rafi bin Khadij. By Allah, I know this hadith better than he does. Two men came to him. Musaddad said in his version, "from the Ansar," then both narrators agreed. They had been quarreling with each other. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If this is how you behave, then do not lease out farmland."Musaddad added, "So he heard only his statement, 'Do not lease out farmland.'"
[Its chain is hasan]. Ibn Majah reported it in the chapter "Al-Ruhun, what is disliked regarding sharecropping," no. 2461, and Nasai, no. 3959, from the hadith of Ismail bin Ulaya through this route, and it is also found in Musnad Abu Bakr Ibn Abu Shayba, 6/342.
