The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Breaking the bone of a dead person is like breaking it while he is alive."
حدثنا القعنبي حدثنا عبد العزيز بن محمد عن سعد يعني ابن سعيد عن عمرة بنت عبد الرحمن
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال كسر عظم الميت ككسره حيا
[Its chain of transmission is hasan]. Ibn Majah narrated it, Funerals, chapter on the prohibition against breaking the bones of the deceased, no. 1616, from the hadith of Abdul-Aziz bin Muhammad Darawardi with this wording. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 776, as did Ibn Jarud, no. 551.Saad bin Saeed's hadith is hasan, and the majority of scholars considered him trustworthy.
