The Prophet ﷺ granted Zubayr a tract of land equal to the distance his horse could run. So Zubayr ran his horse until it stopped, then he threw his whip, and the Prophet ﷺ said, "Give him as much as the whip reached."
حدثنا أحمد بن حنبل حدثنا حماد بن خالد عن عبد الله بن عمر عن نافع
أن النبي ﷺ أقطع الزبير حضر فرسه فأجرى فرسه حتى قام ثم رمى بسوطه فقال أعطوه من حيث بلغ السوط
[Its chain of transmission is hasan] Bayhaqi narrated it in 6/144 from the hadith of Ahmad with this chain, and it is in Musnad Ahmad 22/156. Abdullah al-Umari's hadith is acceptable when narrated from Nafi, but daif when narrated from others.
