Ali bin Abu Talib reported,

I had received a young she-camel as my share of the spoils on the Day of Badr, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had given me another young she-camel from the one-fifth share that day. When I wanted to consummate my marriage with Fatimah, daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, I arranged with a goldsmith from Banu Qaynuqa that he would set out with me so we could fetch idhkhir grass, which I intended to sell to the goldsmiths and use the proceeds for my wedding feast. While I was gathering saddles, sacks, and ropes for my two camels, with the camels kneeling beside the chamber of one of the Ansar, I returned after collecting what I had collected and found that the humps of my two camels had been cut off, their flanks split open, and pieces of their livers taken. I could not hold back my tears when I saw that sight.I asked, "Who did this?"They said, "Hamza bin Abdul-Muttalib did it. He is in this house with a group of the Ansar drinking. A singing girl was singing for him and his companions, and in her song she said, 'Hamza, take the fat young camels!' So he leapt up, grabbed his sword, cut off their humps, split open their flanks, and took pieces of their livers."Ali continued, I set off and entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and Zayd bin Haritha was with him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recognized from my face what had happened to me.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "What is the matter with you?"I said, "Messenger of Allah, I have never seen anything like what happened today. Hamza attacked my two she-camels, cut off their humps, and split open their flanks. He is in a house now with companions drinking."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ called for his cloak, put it on, and set out walking. Zayd bin Haritha and I followed him until he reached the house where Hamza was. He asked permission to enter, and it was granted. There they were, drinking. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ began rebuking Hamza for what he had done, but Hamza was drunk, his eyes red.Hamza looked at the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, then raised his gaze and looked at his knees, then raised his gaze further and looked at his navel, then raised his gaze further and looked at his face. Then Hamza said, "Are you anything but slaves of my father?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ realized he was drunk, so he stepped backward away from him and went out, and we went out with him.
