I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, "Whoever works for us, let him take a wife. If he has no servant, let him take a servant. If he has no dwelling, let him take a dwelling."The narrator said, Abu Bakr said, "I was informed that the Prophet ﷺ said, 'Whoever takes anything beyond that is a misappropriator or a thief.'"

سمعت النبي ﷺ يقول من كان لنا عاملا فليكتسب زوجة فإن لم يكن له خادم فليكتسب خادما فإن لم يكن له مسكن فليكتسب مسكنا قال قال أبو بكر أخبرت أن النبي ﷺ قال من اتخذ غير ذلك فهو غال أو سارق
[Its chain of transmission is sahih], Bayhaqi (6/355) narrated it from the hadith of Abu Dawud, transmitting it in the same way. Ahmad also narrated it (4/229), and Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih (no. 2370), as did Hakim, on the criteria of Bukhari (1/406), and Dhahabi agreed with him. They said, "Abdul-Rahman bin Jubayr" instead of "Jubayr bin Nufayr," and this is closer to being correct.
