Bahiya reported,

I heard a woman asking Ayesha about a woman whose menstruation had become irregular and who was bleeding continuously. Ayesha replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ instructed me to tell such a woman to consider the number of days she used to menstruate each month when her cycle was regular, then count that same number of days, abstain from prayer during them, then take a full bath, fasten a cloth tightly around herself, and pray."
