With the chain of Zuhayr and its meaning, he said, "When menstruation begins, leave off prayer, and when its period has passed, wash the blood from yourself and pray."
حدثنا عبد الله بن مسلمة القعنبي عن مالك
بإسناد زهير ومعناه وقال فإذا أقبلت الحيضة فاتركي الصلاة فإذا ذهب قدرها فاغسلي الدم عنك وصلي
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Menstruation, Chapter on Prolonged Vaginal Bleeding (Istihadhah), no. 306, through the hadith of Malik, transmitted with the same wording. It is also found in Muwatta (Yahya) 1/61 and Qanabi, pp. 79, 80. See also the preceding hadith.
