Fatimah bint Abu Hubaysh came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "I am a woman who suffers from continuous bleeding and never becomes pure. Should I stop praying?"He replied, "That is only a vein, not menstruation. When your menstrual period begins, stop praying, and when it ends, wash the blood from yourself and pray."
حدثنا أحمد بن يونس وعبد الله بن محمد النفيلي قالا حدثنا زهير حدثنا هشام بن عروة عن عروة
أن فاطمة بنت أبي حبيش جاءت رسول الله ﷺ فقالت إني امرأة أستحاض فلا أطهر أفأدع الصلاة قال إنما ذلك عرق وليست بالحيضة فإذا أقبلت الحيضة فدعي الصلاة وإذا أدبرت فاغسلي عنك الدم ثم صلي
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Menstruation, chapter on abnormal vaginal bleeding, no. 306, and Muslim in the Book of Menstruation, chapter on the woman with abnormal vaginal bleeding, her washing, and her prayer, no. 333, from the hadith of Hisham, with the same wording.
