Abdullah bin Abbas reported,

Regarding Allah's statement, "And indeed the devils inspire their allies", they would say, "What Allah has slaughtered, do not eat, but what you yourselves have slaughtered, eat." So Allah revealed, "And do not eat of that over which the name of Allah has not been mentioned."

في قوله {وإن الشياطين ليوحون إلى أوليائهم} يقولون ما ذبح الله فلا تأكلوا وما ذبحتم أنتم فكلوا فأنزل الله عز وجل {ولا تأكلوا مما لم يذكر اسم الله عليه}
