Regarding Allah's statement, "And indeed the devils inspire their allies", they would say, "What Allah has slaughtered, do not eat, but what you yourselves have slaughtered, eat." So Allah revealed, "And do not eat of that over which the name of Allah has not been mentioned."

Ibn Majah reported it in Chapter of Slaughtered Animals, section on mentioning the name of Allah at the time of slaughtering, from the hadith of Israil, narrating it. Simak from Ikrima is a daif chain of transmission. It has a daif corroborating narration in Mujam al-Kabir by Tabarani, 11/242, no. 11614.
