Abu Hurairah reported,

I arrived in Medina while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was at Khaybar, having just conquered it. I asked him to allot me a share of the spoils. One of the sons of Saeed bin al-As spoke up and said, "Do not give him a share, Messenger of Allah."I said, "This is the killer of Ibn Qawqal."Saeed bin al-As said, "How astonishing! A little creature dangling down on us from a stray mountain peak reproaches me with the killing of a Muslim man whom Allah Almighty honored at my hands and did not disgrace me at his."

حدثنا حامد بن يحيى البلخي قال حدثنا سفيان قال حدثنا الزهري وسأله إسمعيل بن أمية فحدثناه الزهري أنه سمع عنبسة بن سعيد القرشي يحدث

عن أبي هريرة قال

قدمت المدينة ورسول الله ﷺ بخيبر حين افتتحها فسألته أن يسهم لي فتكلم بعض ولد سعيد بن العاص فقال لا تسهم له يا رسول الله قال فقلت هذا قاتل ابن قوقل فقال سعيد بن العاص يا عجبا لوبر قد تدلى علينا من قدوم ضال يعيرني بقتل امرئ مسلم أكرمه الله تعالى على يدي ولم يهني على يديه
