Salama reported,

I went on an expedition with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ against Hawazin. While we were having our morning meal, with most of us on foot and some weak among us, a man came riding a red camel. He pulled a leather rope from the camel's flank and tethered his camel with it, then came to eat the morning meal with the people. When he saw their weakness and the poor condition of their mounts, he ran out to his camel, untied it, made it kneel, mounted it, then set off driving it hard. A man from Aslam pursued him on a grey she-camel, which was the best mount among the people.Salama bin Akwa said, I set out running and caught up with him. The head of the she-camel was at the haunch of the camel, and I was at the haunch of the she-camel. Then I advanced until I was at the haunch of the camel. Then I advanced further until I seized the camel's halter and made it kneel. When it placed its knee on the ground, I drew my sword and struck the man's head, sending it flying. I then came leading his mount along with what was on it.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ met me with the people coming forward and asked, "Who killed the man?"They replied, "Salama bin Akwa."He said, "All of his spoils belong to him."Harun said, This is the wording of Hashim.
