He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Do not practice continuous fasting. Whoever among you wishes to continue his fast, let him continue it only until the predawn meal."They said, "But you yourself practice continuous fasting."He replied, "I am not like you. I have One who feeds me and One who gives me drink."
حدثنا قتيبة بن سعيد أن بكر بن مضر حدثهم عن ابن الهاد عن عبد الله بن خباب
أنه سمع رسول الله ﷺ يقول لا تواصلوا فأيكم أراد أن يواصل فليواصل حتى السحر قالوا فإنك تواصل قال إني لست كهيئتكم إن لي مطعما يطعمني وساقيا يسقيني
