The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade continuous fasting without breaking it.The companions said, "But you yourself fast continuously, Messenger of Allah."He replied, "I am not like you. I am given food and drink."
حدثنا عبد الله بن مسلمة القعنبي عن مالك عن نافع
أن رسول الله ﷺ نهى عن الوصال قالوا فإنك تواصل يا رسول الله قال إني لست كهيئتكم إني أطعم وأسقى
Bukhari related it, Fasting, chapter on wisal, no. 1962, and Muslim, Fasting, chapter on the prohibition of wisal, no. 1102, from the hadith of Malik through this same chain, and it is in Muwatta (Yahya): 1/300.
