I went out with my father during the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ pilgrimage. I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and my father approached him while he was on his she-camel. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stopped for him and listened to him. He had with him a whip like the whip of scribes. I heard the bedouins and the people saying, "The whip, the whip, the whip!"My father came up to him, took hold of his foot, acknowledged him, stood before him, and listened to him.My father said, "I was present at the army of Uthran." Ibn al-Muthanna said, "the army of Ghuthran." He continued, "Tariq bin al-Murraqqa said, 'Who will give me a spear in exchange for its reward?' I asked, 'What is its reward?' He said, 'I will marry him to the first daughter born to me.' So I gave him my spear, then I lost contact with him until I learned that a daughter had been born to him and had come of age. Then I came to him and said, 'Send my wife to me, prepared for me.' He swore that he would not do so until I paid him a new dowry, other than what had been agreed between us, and I swore that I would not pay any dowry other than what I had already given him."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "And of what age among women is she today?"He replied, "She has seen grey hairs."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I think you should leave her alone."He said, "That alarmed me, and I looked at the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When he saw that from me, he said, 'You will not be sinning, nor will your companion be sinning.'"
حدثنا الحسن بن علي ومحمد بن المثنى المعنى قالا حدثنا يزيد بن هارون أخبرنا عبد الله بن يزيد بن مقسم الثقفي من أهل الطائف حدثتني سارة بنت مقسم أنها سمعت
خرجت مع أبي في حجة رسول الله ﷺ فرأيت رسول الله ﷺ فدنا إليه أبي وهو على ناقة له فوقف له واستمع منه ومعه درة كدرة الكتاب فسمعت الأعراب والناس وهم يقولون الطبطبية الطبطبية الطبطبية فدنا إليه أبي فأخذ بقدمه فأقر له ووقف عليه واستمع منه فقال إني حضرت جيش عثران قال ابن المثنى جيش غثران فقال طارق بن المرقع من يعطيني رمحا بثوابه قلت وما ثوابه قال أزوجه أول بنت تكون لي فأعطيته رمحي ثم غبت عنه حتى علمت أنه قد ولد له جارية وبلغت ثم جئته فقلت له أهلي جهزهن إلي فحلف أن لا يفعل حتى أصدقه صداقا جديدا غير الذي كان بيني وبينه وحلفت لا أصدق غير الذي أعطيته فقال رسول الله ﷺ وبقرن أي النساء هي اليوم قال قد رأت القتير قال أرى أن تتركها قال فراعني ذلك ونظرت إلى رسول الله ﷺ فلما رأى ذلك مني قال لا تأثم ولا يأثم صاحبك
