A woman reported,

She is trustworthy, a woman of truth. She said, "My father was on a raid during the days of ignorance when the burning ground scorched their feet. A man said, 'Who will give me his sandals in exchange for my marrying him to the first daughter born to me?' So my father took off his sandals and threw them to him. Later a girl was born to the man, and she reached maturity."Sara bint Miqsam told me that she heard Maymuna bint Kardam say, "I went out with my father during the pilgrimage of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. My father approached him while the Prophet was on a she-camel of his, and the Prophet stopped for him and listened to him. In his hand was a whip like the whip used by teachers. I heard the bedouins and the people saying, 'The whip, the whip, the whip!' My father came close to him and took hold of his foot, and the Prophet acknowledged him, halted for him, and listened to him."My father said, "I was present at the army of Uthran." Ibn Muthanna said it was the army of Ghuthran. "Tariq bin Murqi said, 'Who will give me a spear and take its reward?'I asked, 'What is its reward?'He said, 'I will marry him to the first daughter born to me.'So I gave him my spear. Then I lost touch with him until I learned that a girl had been born to him and had reached maturity. I came to him and said, 'My wife, send her to me.'But he swore he would not do so unless I paid a fresh dower other than what had been agreed between us, and I swore I would not pay any dower other than what I had already given him."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "How old is she now, among which group of women does she fall today?"He replied, "She has already gone grey."The Prophet said, "I think you should leave her be."My father said, "That alarmed me, and I looked at the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When he saw that in me, he said, 'You will not be sinning, nor will your companion be sinning.'"Abu Dawud said, "Qatir means grey hair."

حدثنا أحمد بن صالح حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا ابن جريج أخبرني إبراهيم بن ميسرة أن خالته أخبرته عن امرأة قالت هي مصدقة امرأة صدق قالت بينا أبي في غزاة في الجاهلية إذ رمضوا فقال رجل من يعطيني نعليه وأنكحه أول بنت تولد لي فخلع أبي نعليه فألقاهما إليه فولدت له جارية فبلغت وذكر نحوه لم يذكر قصة القتير
