The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood between the Jamarat on the Day of Sacrifice during the pilgrimage he performed and asked, "What day is this?"They replied, "It is the Day of Sacrifice."He said, "This is the day of the greatest pilgrimage."
حدثنا مؤمل بن الفضل حدثنا الوليد حدثنا هشام يعني ابن الغاز حدثنا نافع
أن رسول الله ﷺ وقف يوم النحر بين الجمرات في الحجة التي حج فقال أي يوم هذا قالوا يوم النحر قال هذا يوم الحج الأكبر
[Its chain is sahih. Ibn Majah narrated it in the chapters on Manasik (Rites of Pilgrimage), chapter on the sermon on the Day of Sacrifice, no. 3058, from the hadith of Hisham bin Ghaz, by this route. Bukhari mentioned it as a suspended narration, no. 1742. Hakim graded it sahih, 2/231, and Dhahabi agreed with him].
