Abdullah bin Umar reported,

During the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, people used to give the charity of Fitr as a saa of barley, dates, coarse wheat, or raisins.Abdullah said, "When Umar came to power and wheat became abundant, Umar made half a saa of wheat the equivalent of a full saa of those other items."

عن عبد الله بن عمر قال

كان الناس يخرجون صدقة الفطر على عهد رسول الله ﷺ صاعا من شعير أو تمر أو سلت أو زبيب قال قال عبد الله فلما كان عمر رضي الله عنه وكثرت الحنطة جعل عمر نصف صاع حنطة مكان صاع من تلك الأشياء
