Abdullah bin Abbas reported,

He spent the night at the Prophet's ﷺ side and saw him wake up, brush his teeth with a tooth-stick, and perform wudu, while reciting, "Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth" [Baqarah 2:164], until he finished the surah. Then he stood and prayed two units, making the standing, the ruku, and the sujud long. Then he finished, went back to sleep, and slept so deeply that he breathed heavily. He did this three times, six units in all, brushing his teeth each time, then performing wudu and reciting these verses. Then he prayed witr.Uthman said in his version, "with three units, and then the caller to prayer came to him and he went out to the prayer."Ibn Isa said in his version, "Then he prayed witr, and Bilal came and informed him of the prayer when dawn broke, so he prayed the two units before Fajr and then went out to the prayer."Both versions then agree that he was saying, "O Allah, place light in my heart, place light on my tongue, place light in my hearing, place light in my sight, place light behind me and light before me, place light above me and light below me. O Allah, grant me abundant light."
