Fadl bin Abbas reported,

I spent a night with the Prophet ﷺ in order to observe how he prayed. He got up, performed wudu, and prayed two rakahs in which his standing was as long as his bowing, and his bowing as long as his prostration. Then he slept.Then he woke, performed wudu, used the tooth-stick, and recited five verses from Surah Al Imran, "Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day..." [Al Imran 3:190]. He kept doing this until he had prayed ten rakahs. Then he stood and prayed a single rakah, making it his witr.At that point the caller for prayer announced the adhan, and after the muezzin fell silent, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood and prayed two light rakahs. Then he sat until he prayed the dawn prayer.

حدثنا محمد بن بشار حدثنا أبو عاصم حدثنا زهير بن محمد عن شريك بن عبد الله بن أبي نمر عن كريب

عن الفضل بن عباس قال

بت ليلة عند النبي ﷺ لأنظر كيف يصلي فقام فتوضأ وصلى ركعتين قيامه مثل ركوعه وركوعه مثل سجوده ثم نام ثم استيقظ فتوضأ واستن ثم قرأ بخمس آيات من آل عمران {إن في خلق السموات والأرض واختلاف الليل والنهار} فلم يزل يفعل هذا حتى صلى عشر ركعات ثم قام فصلى سجدة واحدة فأوتر بها ونادى المنادي عند ذلك فقام رسول الله ﷺ بعدما سكت المؤذن فصلى سجدتين خفيفتين ثم جلس حتى صلى الصبح
