The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out with the people to pray for rain. He led them in two units of prayer, reciting aloud in both, then turned his cloak inside out, raised his hands, supplicated and prayed for rain, and faced the qiblah.
[Sahih] Its basis is agreed upon by Bukhari and Muslim. Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Rain Prayer, chapter on supplication for rain while standing, hadith no. 1023, and Muslim in the Book of Rain Prayer, hadith no. 894, both from the hadith of Zuhri.
