He called the adhan for prayer at Dajnan on a cold and windy night, and at the end of his call he said, "Pray in your dwellings. Pray in your dwellings."Then he said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to instruct the muadhin, when it was a cold or rainy night during a journey, to say, 'Pray in your dwellings.'"
حدثنا عثمان بن أبي شيبة حدثنا أبو أسامة عن عبيد الله عن نافع
أنه نادى بالصلاة بضجنان في ليلة ذات برد وريح فقال في آخر ندائه ألا صلوا في رحالكم ألا صلوا في الرحال ثم قال إن رسول الله ﷺ كان يأمر المؤذن إذا كانت ليلة باردة أو ذات مطر في سفر يقول ألا صلوا في رحالكم
Muslim narrated it in the Book of the Prayer of Travelers, Chapter on Prayer, Prayer of Travelers, Chapter on Praying in Dwellings During Rain, hadith no. 697, from the hadith of Abu Usama, with this chain.
