We were with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey when Eid al-Adha came, so we shared a cow among seven of us and a camel among ten.
حدثنا الحسين بن حريث وغير واحد قالوا حدثنا الفضل بن موسى عن حسين بن واقد عن علباء بن أحمر عن عكرمة
كنا مع النبي ﷺ في سفر فحضر الأضحى فاشتركنا في البقرة سبعة وفي الجزور عشرة
Its isnad is hasan. Ibn Majah narrated it in the chapter on sacrifices, section on how many a camel or cow suffices for, hadith 3131, and Nasai, 7/222, hadith 4397, from the hadith of Fadl bin Musa, with the same wording. Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, hadith 2908, as did Ibn Hibban (al-Ihsan), 3996.
