The Prophet ﷺ said, "The game of the land is lawful for you while you are in the state of ihram, as long as you did not hunt it yourselves and it was not hunted on your behalf."
حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا يعقوب بن عبد الرحمن عن عمرو بن أبي عمرو عن المطلب
عن النبي ﷺ قال صيد البر لكم حلال وأنتم حرم ما لم تصيدوه أو يصد لكم
[Its chain is daif] Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Rites, chapter on the meat of hunted game for one in ihram, no. 1851, and Nasai, 5/187, no. 2830, from Qutayba with the same chain. Ibn Khuzayma declared it sahih, no. 2641, as did Ibn Hibban (Al-Ihsan), no. 3960, and Hakim, 1/452, along with Dhahabi.However, it contains a fatal flaw, since Muttalib did not hear from Jabir, as Abu Hatim Razi stated (Al-Marasil, p. 210).There is also a report on this subject from Abu Qatada.
