The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever provides food for a fasting person to break their fast will receive a reward equal to theirs, without diminishing the fasting person's reward in the slightest."
حدثنا هناد حدثنا عبد الرحيم عن عبد الملك بن أبي سليمان عن عطاء
قال رسول الله ﷺ من فطر صائما كان له مثل أجره غير أنه لا ينقص من أجر الصائم شيئا
[Its isnad is sahih.] It was also related by Ibn Majah, in the Book of Fasting, chapter on the reward for one who provides food for a fasting person, hadith 1746, from the hadith of Abdul-Malik with the same wording. Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, hadith 2064, as did Ibn Hibban, hadith 895. There is another route for it in Ibn Hibban, hadith 1619, which reads, "Whoever equips a fighter in the cause of Allah, or looks after his family in his absence, will be credited with the same reward as him," and its chain is sahih.
